The Alchemist
In alchemy, the ancient spiritual belief was that in order to effect change in the external environment, an alchemist must first purify within the self. Working on this internal transformative path is what will lead the alchemist to see external changes. Is it the external world that changes, or only the perception of it? It is hard to distinguish between the two.
